Navigation, Open Crossings, Surf and Swell, Tides and Weather Course
The Navigation, Open Crossings, Surf and Swell, Tides and Weather course is aimed at anyone wanting to gain knowledge and develop in the specific areas of interest and cover a range of topics.
The weather module is delivered via a 2 hour online session in advance of the course. The remaining 4 modules are delivered face-to-face over 2 days with a combination of classroom and practical out on the water application. Completion of the whole course enables 25 CPD points to be achieved.
The course is suitable for anyone wishing to undertake journeys on the sea using a kayak who would find the technical and theoretical aspects not only useful, but essential for safe travel in the marine environment. This course is a pre-requisite for anyone working towards their Sea Kayak Leader (non-tidal and tidal) award.
