Plockton is one of the best places to learn to sea kayak in Scotland. The peninsula’s picturesque sheltered bays are ideal for learning skills, which can then be put into practice around its offshore island archipelagos.
A learn to Sea Kayak course is suited to complete beginners or kayakers with limited experience. You’ll get to grips with the basics of sea kayaking and develop your skills as you go on a guided coastal journey discovering spectacular scenery and landscapes … secluded bays, coral beaches, islands, panoramic views and the possibility of seeing an array of marine life at close quarters. An unforgettable experience! More detail can be found in the FAQs sheet.
Please note that the minimum age for participants is 13 and that children aged 16 and over are charged adult prices. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult (parent or guardian).
If you book onto a two-day Learn to Sea Kayak course we cover the BCU 1 star syllabus. If you’ve already achieved your BCU 1 star we can help take your kayaking skills to the next level with training for the BCU 2 star. For more information about BCU star awards please go to the BCU training page.
