Matthew Phillips

Matthew’s love for the outdoors was noted by his mother before he was out of nappies! Originally from Edinburgh, he grew up spending regular weekends in the Scottish Highlands, which fuelled his passion for the outdoors. Since studying outdoor education in 2003, Matthew has worked and explored all over the world, but it’s Scotland’s west coast that keeps calling him back. He spent nearly four years in the Polar regions as a Senior Boating Officer for the British Antarctic Survey, but now calls Fort William his home. From here he walks, climbs, skis and kayaks for work and play, though he is at his happiest on the water in his sea kayak. Like many of the team, he enjoys a wee dram at the end of a days paddling!
